The project of the photographer Michael Züger deals with a very special, very Yugoslav object - a fence that was manufactured during the Yugoslav era and which can still be found throughout the entire region. The very different pictures of this fence, which symbolises both the separation and integration of the individual nations, were taken on numerous trips to the former Yugoslavia and in the dead of night. A book about this project which provokes contemplation and discussion has been published and contains short stories about the trips, culture-theoretical essays and song lyrics by popular Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian hip-hoppers. During the interview, Michael Züger will provide interesting facts on how the project came about, its actual goal and how local people reacted to his undertaking.
