The Bosnian author and columnist Faruk Šehić (*1970) studied veterinary medicine in Zagreb until the civil war broke out in 1992 and he joined the Bosnia-Herzegovinian army. His first literary work was published in 1998. His novel ‹Knjiga o Uni› (The Book of Una) was awarded the renowned Meša Selimović Prize. With an alert eye and sharp-witted language Šehić dissects the psyche of Bosnian society - also in the anthology ‹Bibliothek Sarajevo. Literarische Vermessung einer Stadt› (Library Sarajevo. Literary Measurement of a City), which comprises literary contributions from 13 authors. During the second half of the trip, Ingo Starz, the co-publisher of this book, will talk about the idea and realisation of the book and discuss with Faruk Šehić the influence of this type of project.
Location: The tram trips start at the tram depot Burgernziel, situated right next to the literature restaurant Punto Buchowski (Thunstrasse 104, 3006 Bern). All other events take place at Punto Buchowski.
