Dalibor Šimpraga was born in Zagreb in 1969, where he still lives to this day. He studied Croatian and South Slavonic Literature and Linguistics and has been working as a culture editor at the Croatian magazine ‹Globus› for many years. In his short stories, published under the pseudonym Andrej Puplin, he captures life on the streets of Zagreb shortly after the war - witty, ambiguous and direct. Šimpraga was awarded one of the most prestigious Croatian literature prizes for his complex novel ‹Anastasia›, which is dedicated to individual freedom. The reading will be chaired by Gérald Kurth, who has translated excerpts from ‹Anastasia›.
