MINIMUM MAXIMUM 4 will present more than 150 miniatures by various artists which deal with the topic of crisis. Crisis is the latest buzzword: Based on the economic crisis it shapes the attitude towards life of a whole generation and has wide implications for the life of each individual. It raises questions which reach far beyond contemporary history and ecological, social and psychological areas up to philosophy. The vast extent of the topic is in complete contradiction to the extremely limited space available to the artists with regard to their picture solutions for MINIMUM MAXIMUM.
The aim of the competition is to generate maximum intensity and expression on a minimum space of just 10x10 cm - the works can also be submitted as letters. The exhibition series MINIMUM MAXIMUM is organised by the young artist group ‹uaa!› (udruženje anonimnih artista / Association of Anonymous Artists) from Banja Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and incorporates artists from the former Yugoslavia. In recent years, MINIMUM MAXIMUM has created a unique platform for dialogue between young artists of the post-communist nations of the Balkans thanks to its exhibitions on Communism (2009), Religion (2010) and Sexuality (2011).
