King is about 40 years old and runs a bar in Bor, a bleak and desolate mining town in Serbia. He is a maverick and lives for the here and now, and for his motorcycle. Many years ago he had an affair with Ruzica, the wife of his best friend Animal - which led to the latter's death and put Ruzica behind bars as a murderer. Since then King has avoided contact with everyone - except for Zlatan, Animal's simple-minded younger brother. King looks after him - out of guilt and pity. When Ruzica is released from prison, she plans - although her heart still belongs to King - to marry Whitie, who has sworn his undying love for her. Her teenage daughter Rosa leads a wild and excessive life, a victim of alcohol and drugs. One night she meets the legendary King for the first time. He is attracted to her - is it because of her youth, her untamed character, which resembles his own, or the strong resemblance to her mother: He doesn't know and doesn't want to know.
