In its series ‹Dichterstübli›, the literature restaurant ‹Punto Buchowski› in Berne presents Albanian poetry of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland. The poets Shaip Beqiri and Ndriçim Ademaj represent two different generations: After studying literature, Shaip Beqiri, who was born in Kosovo in 1954, worked as a poet, publisher and culture journalist at the University of Pristina. Due to an impending prison sentence, he applied for political asylum in Switzerland in 1995.
Ndriçim Ademaj was born in Prizren, Kosovo, in 1991 where he has published two books of poetry: ‹Kërkoj diellin› (‹Looking for the Sun›) (2008) and ‹Dera› (‹The Door›) (2011, 2012). The young poet, who has been living in Geneva for a number of years, is still hardly known in German-speaking countries. The encounter with the poets will take place in form of poems read by the narrator Gian Töndury in German and a subsequent discussion moderated and interpreted by Francesco Micieli and Hilmi Gashi. The evening will be rounded off with a solo performance by the jazz singer Elina Duni.
