Vladimir Solovyov (1853-1900) was a philosopher with diverse and independent views - a maverick, particular due to the broad range of his interests and ideas. He dealt with traditions of eastern and western philosophy and studied the major thinkers from Plato to his contemporary Nietzsche; he addressed the views of the Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant church and worked on a universal synthesis of science, philosophy and religion. Solovyov‘s understanding of philosophy combines a radical experience-based and thus open thinking for sensory and extrasensory (mystical, religious, spiritual) experiences with total unity. The aim of the evening is to introduce the basic ideas of Solovyoy's philosophy and to use them as a source of inspiration for characterising questions which are <relevant and inevitable>.
