According to the German director Georg Genoux, everyone is an artist. And there is good reason why this Beuys-esque motto has become his mantra: Genoux has been the director of the Moscow Joseph Beuys Theatre since 2007. His aim is to present overlooked and taboo topics to Moscow audiences through contemporary performances à la Beuys. After documentary theatre productions which focused on life with HIV ( - Truth beyond the Arctic Circle) or the emotions of Nazi daughters (), Genoux has now decided to take a closer look at the term democracy in . This unique production has neither a script nor actors. The audience are the participants in a democracy workshop and break down a current understanding of democracy into its individual constituent parts, before trying to discover a new democratic system and establishing it on stage.
