Dmitry Demiashkin originates from Saransk, situated to the south-east of Moscow. The Mordvin's first international success came at the age of eleven. Even at this tender age he wowed juries and critics alike: his music was characterised by his exceptional musical talent, elegance and sensibility, as well as his brilliant technique. The now 30-year old musician's career has since taken him from Kazan to Moscow, and Switzerland, the country where he chose to continue his studies and which he now calls home. With Mussorgsky's ‹Pictures at an Exhibition› and Schumann‘s ‹Carnaval›, the programme offers two popular yet extremely challenging and very diverse Romantic piano cycles.
