9.00 pm
Aperitif with Russian music
A portable gramophone, Russian music, Crimean champagne and appetisers. What else do you need to get in the mood for an evening entitled <Moscow Night>?
10.00 pm
A five-round philosophical-musical debate during a live broadcast by Radio Philo Moscow Soloists of the CHAMBER ORCHESTRA BASEL
Music: Sergey Ivanovich Taneyev (1856-1915), piano quintet G-minor op. 30 (1910/11)
Since the time of Peter the Great, who wished to bring Russia closer to Western Europe, the debate has been fuelled in Russia by philosophy, art and politics: <Slavophiles> emphasise Russia's independence, <Westerners> consider Russia as a (key) part of Europe. Visitors will experience <Clinch>, the popular show of Radio Philo Moscow, live on stage at Ackermannshof. The sounds of Sergey Taneyev‘s piano quintet create a musical counterpoint. The show will be presented by Maria Thorgevsky with questions debated by Alexander Tschernek and Dan Wiener.
Music will be performed by the soloists of the Chamber Orchestra Basel:
Vlad Stanculeasa (violin)
Matthias Mueller (violin)
Bodo Friedrich (viola)
Hristo Kouzmanov (violoncello)
Reto Reichenbach (piano)
Conceived and directed by: Maria Thorgevsky.
A cooperation of Philosophicum, Chamber Orchestra Basel (‘Nachtklang' series) and the bar and restaurant in Ackermannshof.
Entrance fee: CHF 35 / 25
