2.30 pm ‹City of Change›
p>Milo Rau and IIPM (International Institute of Political Murder) present the extremely well-received film about their extensive project <City of Change> with which they went in search of democracy in 2011, declaring the Swiss city of St. Gallen to be the world centre of neo-democratic change. A petition to introduce a universal right to vote and the appointment of a temporary government formed by the city‘s inhabitants ensured <City of Change> became a talking point locally, nationally and internationally. This is a must-see film for everyone who wishes to witness how the inhabitants of an entire city give Swiss politics the elbow and what it actually feels like when art is really in power.

4.30 pm Discussion forum on European democracies
European democracies are being put to test: Demonstrations against leading banks, authoritarian leaders, corrupt politicians and the way politics is governed by business, religion or the media are just as much a sign of the challenge, as referendums which are in conflict with human and personal rights. Democracy can be interpreted in many different ways - attempts are being made everywhere to redefine the system as a process. Constitutional experts, political scientists and philosophers discuss the current status of democracy in Russia, Switzerland and the European Union.

Joseph Beuys Theatre Moscow and teatr.doc
According to the German director Georg Genoux, everyone is an artist. And there is good reason why this Beuys-esque motto has become his mantra: Genoux has been the director of the Moscow Joseph Beuys Theatre since 2007. His aim is to present overlooked and taboo topics to Moscow audiences through contemporary performances à la Beuys. After documentary theatre productions which focused on life with HIV (<Sapoljarnaja Pravda> - Truth beyond the Arctic Circle) or the emotions of Nazi daughters (<Anne and Helga>), Genoux has now decided to take a closer look at the term democracy in<Democracy.doc>. <Democracy.doc> is not a play, but an experimental arrangement in which the <audience>, with the aid of assistants, develop the storyline, dialogues and figures. There are no actors and each member of the audience is responsible for the model of democracy this evening. An experiment with an uncertain result. This interactive theatre project without actors was a huge success at the Moscow cellar theatre <teatr.doc>.
