‹Russian Archives› is the title of an exhibition by a group of Soviet-born artists who work with images of the collective and individual memory. Which forms and media of recollection and representation do they choose? What is the actual relationship between the story and their artistic archiving and retelling? Which role do nostalgic items, fetishised and mythologised objects, in which the feelings of loss and re-acquisition interact, actually play? The exhibition throws up many questions, while attempting to blur the boundaries between private and public, personal and general, by encouraging visitors to interact.
The following artists are participating: Irina Polin, Vladimir Kupriyanov, Svetlana Mazoulveskaya, Vladimir Archipov, Alexander Ponomarev, Anna Frantz, Ekaterina Panikanova, Igor Tishin
