The trio Minua (Kristinn Smári Kristinsson, Fabian Willmann, Luca Aaron) create music that is strongly evocative. Inspired by renaissance and impressionism, Nordic folklore and chamber music, jazz and avant-garde, the three musicians merge into one: they devote themselves fully to the overall sound which arises as both experimental and very familiar.
On November 24 with Specialguest Skúli Sverrisson (*1966), one of Iceland's most important and influential jazz bassists, composers and producers. Over the past two decades the New York-based Icelander has collaborated with the crème de la crème of the jazz world, including Allan Holdsworth, Laurie Anderson, Jim Black, Derek Bailey, Chris Speed and Lou Reed. His approaches range from traditional folk, across mind-sets and styles of jazz, to forms, which work themselves free of all stylistics.
