‹Björk: Biophilia live› documents Björk's 2013 concert in Alexandra Palace in London, however it is far more than a mere a concert film. The focus of course is on Björk, her band, and the wide array of instruments that give Biophilia its unique sound - digital, traditional, and completely unclassifiable. It is a truly rare thing that directors Peter Strickland and Nick Fenton have succeeded in doing: they have found the necessary distance to their star performer. Björk always appears as part of the show, an iridescent gem among many others. All of this is embedded in the magnificent animations and scientific film material of the multidisciplinary multimedia project Biophilia. «An imaginative stand-alone artwork» (Hollywood Reporter) and a key jigsaw piece in the multi-coloured mosaic that is ‹Biophilia›.
