As was written about the cargo ship and its captain off the coast of England for a newspaper article late last year, could also have been written about them: masterfully stranded, no easy solution in sight. Schauplatz International takes a closer look at Eugène Viollet-Le-Duc and John Ruskin, two historical figures of the 19th century. Based on the works of Halldor Laxness, the only Icelandic Nobel prize winner, as well as Werner Herzog and James Webb, ‹Fundamentalisten› conceptualises a world of text, images and sounds, which will resonate with the audience. With the FUNDAMENTALISTS, the group Schauplatz International - about whom «Der Bund» has written: «they penetrate areas of artistic self-reflection other groups would be unable to cope with without additional oxygen» - delivers the second part of a trilogy.
