Across three exhibitions the Icelandic cultural journalist, literature critic, and photographer Einar Falur Ingólfsson (*1966) devotes himself to his homeland of Iceland: <Shelters> are wonderful, melancholic landscape shots, demonstrating how nature not only inspires with its beauty, but also challenges residents on a daily basis. The photographs were taken after the economic collapse in 2008, and make a symbolic reference to the shelter many Icelanders sought during the economic storm.
<Reykjanesbrautin> is a study of the road from Keflavik, where the artist grew up, to Reykjavík, where he has predominantly resided for the past three decades. <Sanctuary>, borrowed from the <Shelters> series, often shows areas of the uninhabited highlands of Iceland, where people search for peace and solace.
