Tokyo Family› is a remake of ‹Tokyo Monogatari› by Yasujirô Ozu that is also shown in the context of CULTURESCAPES in Uster. Director Yôji Yamada was Ozu's director assistant and pays homage to his mentor. The story line is mainly preserved; one element is added to the remake: present day Tokyo is still in the aftermath of the 2011's tsunami and nuclear disaster.
