The ORGANIST MARI FUKUMOTO (*1987) will make her Swiss debut at Basel Munster.
The programme will enable the ‹shooting star› of the international organ scene to show the full range of her skills. Richard Wagner’s ‹Master Singers. Prelude› will be performed besides works by Johann Sebastian and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Furthermore, Max Reger’s chorale fantasia on ‹Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme› (Sleepers, Awake) can be heard, and Tadashi Yamanouchi (1935-2000) will represent the ideas and music of Japanese composers.
The amazing young musician was born and bred in Tokyo and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. In the autumn of 2011, she enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg to study under the watchful eye of Professor Wolfgang Zerer. She has won numerous awards and her first solo album was recently released.
