Japan-Gate III wishes to uncover and critically discuss the working world in Tokyo as part of Japan’s cultural landscape. Various guest lecturers will share their experiences of the Japanese working culture. Prof. Dr. Christian Schwarzenegger, Vice President Law and Economics at the University of Zürich, will provide an insight into the latest cooperation in the academic sector. Susanna Baer teaches typography and design at the Tama Art University in Tokyo and has founded the Swiss design studio so+ba in Tokyo. Jan Knüsel enjoyed unexpected success with his documentary ‹Negative: Nothing› and currently runs an Asian news platform as well as a popup cinema. Dr. Georg Blind from the Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of Zürich will report on changes in the Japanese labour market. Nina Belz, Asia correspondent for NZZ, will guide you through the event.
