On the one hand, an ikebana arrangement should bring nature into the living space. On the other hand, it should depict the cosmic order. Ikebana creates harmony through linear design, rhythm and colour.
The artist Ann Buch will carefully listen to the string music of Faust Quartet in order to explore our relationship to nature and creatively translate her impressions in meditative listening. Faust Quartet, consisting of Simone Roggen (violin), Annina Wöhrle (violin), Ada Meinich (viola) and Birgit Böhme (cello), will perform contemporary compositions, for instance the Japanese string quartet ‹Silent Flowers› by Toshio Hosokawa (*1955). Faust Quartet, founded in Weimar in 1996, is well known for its distinctive awareness of musical processes. On this enchanting concert evening, sound will turn into flowers.
After a break, where Japanese food is available, a second set will subsequently be performed by Ensemble Inverspace presenting ‹YAMANOTE – A CITY MAP OF SOUNDS›.
