The Berlin-based author Ingo Petz will read from his book "Kuckucksuhren in Baku" (Cuckoo Clocks in Baku) (2006), an account of his travels in which he humorously and intelligently describes his experiences in a country that is rarely visited by backpackers, a country that smells of oil, salt and smog and in which taking a taxi still appears to be a real philosophy. A journey full of bizarre encounters which disclosed a great deal to the author about his native country and himself.
Ingo Petz studied Eastern European history, Slavonic studies and political science in Cologne and Russia.
Between 2006 and 2007, the German movie director Veit Helmer filmed a burlesque-romantic love story about Aya and Temelko far away from mainstream international cinema productions and established cinematic standards in the north west of Azerbaijan. His award-winning third masterpiece.
