BAKuNLIMITED addresses the contemporary art scene in Azerbaijan, which has been particularly influenced by the social transformation of the past decades. The artists take an inquisitive, critical, and cautious look at the scene, both internally and externally. The exhibition focuses on the synthesis of classic imaging techniques and digital processes - a combination of contemporary history and technical progress. Besides paintings, photographs and video installations, the projects of Azerbaijani artists who took part in the Artist-in-Residence program at iaab (Basel) and NAIRS (Grisons) will also be on show.
The exhibition will be housed in the spectacular event and culture hall Voltahalle in Basel. The completely glazed front façade offers a splendid view of the impressive skyline of the industrial area and port facilities, allowing Azerbaijani art to be carried into the heart of Basel.
