The basel sinfonietta invites you on a musical journey through Far Eastern countries. The Moldovan star violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, who has become a firm favourite at international festivals thanks to her unique interpretations, will be accompanying you. This young and truly gifted exceptional artist is a great champion of twentieth and twenty-first century music in her concerts. During her guest performance in Switzerland she will premiere Faraj Garayev‘s violin concert which presents a historically rich musical heritage combined with western and eastern influences in best postmodern style. The program will also include Musica luminosa by the Swiss composer Rudolf Keltenborn and Antonín Dvořák‘s eighth symphony in which he fuses the folkloristic style of his Bohemian homeland with the musical idiom of European artistic music.
