This project is a combination of two individual productions which are aligned facing each other in a theatrical symposium: The production of the independent Swiss theatre troupe CapriConnection and the independent Chinese Living Dance Studio deals with the questions of disease and healing. Each group has its finger on the pulse of time and, in consideration of their cultural and artistic contexts, looks for respective treatment procedures which promise healing. CapriConnection thus travel from Swiss Emmental to Qingdao/China where they meet nature healers and masters of Qi Gong and pass borders which cannot be put into words. Where words are no longer of use the two musicians Yan Jun (Beijing) and Niki Neeke (Basel) are called into play, captivating the audience with their tunes. Living Dance Studio confronts us with the "ailing" spirit of today's society. In our day and age, our fears and our wishes to escape from society, as director Wu Wenguang explains, are a repeating motive. Besides the installation of Chinese choreographer and dancer Wen Hui and Wang Hongjun's documentary "The 100 patients of Dr. Jia" projected onto a wall, the "patients", who act on-stage, all suffer from the phantom pains of today's society.
