When the wallet of good-hearted and trusting Liu Yuejin is stolen, he sees his world crumbling around him. With the cash and a certificate of debt inside the stolen wallet he wanted to open a small restaurant and start his own business. He therefore goes on a quest to find his wallet, but actually finds another one containing some very interesting things. Unwittingly he slides deeper and deeper into the mire of the local underworld. In a sequence of calamities, intrigues and shady moves, the assumedly naive cook turns out to be a very wise guy.
