Anna is in her thirties and lives alone with her dog Manu in a little apartment. She reads to him, talks to him - her social environment consists of her work colleagues and occasional phone calls with her mother. But then Manu dies. Anna buries the dog in the garden of her neighbours house and out of loneliness, begins to edge herself into the family’s life. «[September] negotiates finding struggle, meaning, and happiness in the banality of life. Director Penny Panayotopoulou has succeeded in creating a wonderfully worldly-wise, poetic and melancholic film» (3sat.de)
