The greek-swiss collaboration Money Piece 1 (Comedy), directed by Marcel Schwald, emerged out of teamwork in Athens and Basel. The group addressed the question how does the increasing economisation of western everyday life affect peoples thought patterns, behaviours, and biographies? The performers work and entertain with their respective «saving backgrounds», their «money-biographies», with their social heritage and personal decisions that they have taken based on their income chances. They also explore the question, what trace their relationship with money has left behind in their bodies. In front of a white screen they experiment with historical and contemporary stylistic devices that have always accompanied the crisis period: comedy, satire, documentary art and community arts.
