Theo Kapilidis, born in Greece, is a guitarist and composer from Zürich. As a child he spent a lot of time in his fathers record store, which brought him into contact with jazz early on. He has worked with many well-known jazz musicians through-out his career, such as John Voirol, Heiri Känzig, Rätus Flisch and Tony Renold. Equally he plays in various bands with well-known artists, such as Manny Boyd, Danny Heyes, Keith Copeland, Johnny Vidacovich, as well as Matthieu Michel. «Kapilidis loves half-shadows, the most finely detailed details, the patinated brilliance. But those who have once activated their resonant nerves for his music, may never be able to leave this understatement.» (radiokulturhaus.at)
