‹HYPERMNESIA› is the name given to a condition affecting a whole generation in the former Yugoslavia. Eight actors from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo have delved into their childhood memories for this play by the Bosnian director Selma Spahić. Based on these recollections, the young author and director from Sarajevo assembled a theatrical event that provides an exemplary setting for theatrical language and performance. Spahić's work is deeply touching and triggers intensive feelings in both the audience and the actors. The active confrontation with the past should help the actors and audience to deal with the present. Awarded the IATC Jury Award of the MESS Festival Sarajevo in 2011, this production manages to build bridges without concealing the harsh truth.
